Creative Curriculum

Our creative curriculum makes St Bart’s a unique and exciting place in which to learn.  Teachers and children have ownership of their curriculum and are motivated and enthused by their chosen topics.  Children of all ages are able to plan their topics through mind maps and other visual formats, linking subjects to a range of stimulating and fun activities.  Teachers often include ‘wow’ events in their planning which allow the children to have exciting and memorable ‘real life’ and imaginary/fantasy experiences through practical activities.

Our curriculum is always evolving to ensure that it is relevant and up to date, challenging and inspiring all learners in an ever changing world.  Teachers inspire children to follow their own lines of enquiry and develop independence and resilience as life-long learners.  Children are encouraged to take risks and move beyond their comfort zones.  They have opportunities to draw upon many different learning styles which are modelled by their teachers and peers.  Throughout their learning journeys, children are encouraged to critically evaluate their work and identify the next steps required to make good progress.  Achievements are celebrated regularly to promote confidence and self-worth in all children.
