St Bartholomew’s

Church of England (Aided) Primary School

Headteacher's Welcome

On behalf of the staff and governors of St Bartholomew’s Church of England (Aided) Primary School, I would like to welcome you to our school website.

St Bart’s is a very special Place. There is a ‘family’ feel about the school and a sense of real belonging for everyone who joins our school community. At St Bart’s we are excited about life and learning and dare to chase our dreams.

We share and subscribe to five core values which are at the heart of everything we do at St Bart’s.  These are expressed by a memorable acronym – BARTS – which stands for Believe, Achieve, Respect, Trust and Succeed.  Our core values ensure that everyone, from children to teachers, governors to parents and visitors from the local and wider community, feel safe and happy to take responsibility for their own lives, achieving their very best in a positive and nurturing environment.

We are immensely proud of our creative curriculum which we believe is engaging, challenging, motivational and always relevant to our children’s lives as they learn and grow in the 21st century.

We have strong links with St Bartholomew’s Church.  The whole school community participates in weekly collective worship sessions at the church which is enthusiastically led by either Reverend Mary Bowden or our Youth Minister, Sandy Clarke.

We warmly invite parents and carers into our classrooms at every opportunity because we recognise the very important role they play in their children’s education.  The POBs (Parents of Bart’s) meet regularly and support the school in many different ways, including raising money through Christmas and Summer Fairs, quizzes and band nights as well as providing refreshments at school events and organising parental support for school trips.

Thank you for visiting our website.  We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you into our school family.
