Year 4 visited North West Surrey Reform Synagogue in Weybridge to learn first-hand about the Jewish faithPosted on: 15/03/2018
The children learned a range of facts about how Jewish people worship. Having learned how the Torah scrolls are produced using only natural materials and are written in hand by quill, the children showed both delight and respect when they saw the Torah scrolls for themselves. They also discovered that, if the scribe writing the Torah makes a single mistake, then the section of the Torah he is working on has to be destroyed. Back at school, all the children wrote wonderful letters of thanks to the Synagogue.
