Pupil Premium Funding

The Pupil Premium is a government initiative that targets extra money at children from deprived backgrounds, which research shows underachieve when compared to their peers.

The Pupil Premium is provided in order to support these pupils in reaching their potential. The government have used pupils entitled to free school meals as an indicator for deprivation and have deployed a fixed amount of money to schools based on this data.  At St Bart’s we intend to use this money to narrow the gap in the attainment between the children who qualify for the pupil premium funding and those who do not.
