Sports Funding

St Bartholomews041PE & Sport Premium Funding

Primary Schools receive PE and sports premium based on the number of pupils in year 1 to 6.

This ring-fenced funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, until 2020, and will see money going directly to primary school Headteachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children.

The sport funding can only be spent on sport and PE provision in schools. OFSTED will play a significant role in ensuring that schools target this funding in areas which will lead to clear outcomes in raising standards and opportunities in PE and school sport for all children throughout the Primary Phase.

Purpose of funding

Schools must spend the funding on making additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport they offer but they have the freedom to choose how they do this.

St Bartholomew’s Primary School allocation for the academic year will be in line with the five key indicators as identified on the sports premium plan.
